The Antinori family, famous for
its wine production, has the pleasure of offering special guests the opportunity
to experience country life on their estates in the heart of the Chianti
Classico region. Fonte de’ Medici is comprised of three clusters of wholly
restructured and newly equipped farmhouses surrounded by vineyards. The
name itself goes back to 1400 when travelers between Florence and Siena
would rest and drink from the spring that still passes through the village
of Santa Maria a Macerata before continuing on their journey to the nearby
Badia a Passignano, then a powerful Benedictine monastery. .

Santa Maria a Macerata today houses the reception and common areas: swimming pool, restaurant, conference room, wellness center and several apartments. The other two farmhouses, Podere Tignanell and Podere Vivaio, are located on the hill facing Santa Maria and are easily reached by following a picturesque country road that intersects the vineyards. |

The guests at Fonte de’ Medici have
at their disposition a swimming pool and a solarium with
a magnificent panoramic view (the pool has a shallow and deep end for
the enjoyment of both adults and children). A few meters away, the cafe/restaurant
offers a “country buffet” with a wide selection of Tuscan gastronomic
specialties.
There are numerous outdoor activities that might appeal to our guests, such as excursions with mountain bikes or hiking trails through the estates and to the nearby Buca del Granchio lake, where it is also possible to go fishing. On request and depending on availability, visits to the Tignanello wine cellars with tastings can be organized. We can also arrange tours around Chianti, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and other towns in a minivan with a private guide/driver, as well as arrange for cooking lessons or a private chef to prepare dinner at the apartment. We can also offer a personal trainer, babysitter or dog-sitter, and there is always the possibility of organizing parties, receptions, conventions or business meetings. |

There are excellent stables in the vicinity where unforgettable horseback riding and walks can be arranged. Our reception personnel is well prepared and at the disposition of our guests during office hours. Fax, email, and internet service are also available to satisfy our guests’ needs. Additional personnel are present on the estate or available in case of need at all times, 24 hours, 7 days a week. Finally, Fonte de’ Medici offers a conference room for 80 people with the latest modern equipment, and a small wellness center with the best fitness and relaxation services. |
