RENDOLA RIDING
Rendola Riding
was founded in 1972 by Jenny Bawtree, an English woman enamoured of the
Tuscan countryside, and has since become a well-known Riding-center.
Situated at a thousand feet
above sea-level on the slopes of the Chianti hills, it has splendit views over the
Arno Valley.

THE HORSES RIDING LESSONS
The stables are
situated behind the house, and the horses graze daily in the surrounding
paddocks.
There are eighteen at your disposal, mostly Italian bred and
carefully chosen to suit all levels of ability.
the saddles are English style
and of excellent quality and condition.
Instructors and guides are all
experienced and friendly.
In the ring surrounded by olive-groves small
groups of beginners can take their first lessons and more expert riders can
improve their flat work and jumping.
Those who desire may also help to
groom and feed the horses, and take lessons in elementary horsemanship.

TRAIL-RIDING
R
ides out for small groups are organized daily, quiet ones
for novices and longer, faster rides for the more experienced.
The
surrounding hills, with their olive-groves, vineyards and extensive woodlands
offer an endless variety of itineraries.
In Spring and Autumn Jenny
organizes 3-5 day rides in the Chianti Classico area, between Florence and
Siena.
If you are fit and experienced, you can explore on horseback this
beautiful, unspoilt countryside, visiting abbeys, castles, Romanesque
churches, medieval villages.
Pietro will meet you at lunch-time with
a splendid picnic and accompany you in the evening to your inn or farmhouse.
If you desire insurance, bring a medic certificate and proof of up-to-date
tetani vaccinations, and we will issue a Sporta riding insurance.
SUMMER COURSES
From mid June till the and of Jiuly Jenny organizes
Equitation + English conversation courses for childrend aged 10-17 .
Ridig lessons alternate with trekking, theory courses, films, gymkanas
and moonlight riding . In August there are weekly courses for adults only,
whether beginners or advanced riders .
With the 25th exit of the
Autostrada del Sole only ten kilometres away and Montevarchi Station even
closer, Rendola Riding is easily accessible; and its position in the middle of the
triangle formed by Florence Arezzo and Siena gives its guests the opportunity
to combine riding with visits to close beautiful Tuscan cities.
The guests are lodged in Jenny's home,
a comfortable Tuscan farmhouse.
There are eight bedrooms, some
with private bathrooms, a large dining-room and a sitting-room with fireplace,
plenty of books and a music library.
Pietro the cook prepares for you
delicious Tuscan dishes, accompanied of course by Chianti wine.
The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly, and you will immediately feel at home.

To get to Rendola Riding, leave the Autostrada del Sole at Exit
Number 25 (Valdarno).Drive to Montevarchi, then follow road-signs
for Mercatale. After 5 kilometres turn right towards the little village
of Rendola, where you will see our signboard on the left. If you come
by train, get off at Montevarchi (between Florence and Arezzo) and
we will fetch you with our van.
