Casa Rosa is a pleasant garden cottage in the grounds of the owner's villa. It has the benefit of its own driveway, and this, plus a pretty reserved garden area immediately outside the property, shaded by hedges and trees from the main villa, ensures the privacy of guests. At the back of the cottage, accessed via a little patio outside the kitchen, guests have their own access via steps to an inviting above ground swimming pool (9x5.5m;1.2m- treated biologically, not with chlorine) shared with the owner. From here there are delightful views across the surrounding countryside.

The property is simply but adequately furnished for holiday accommodation, with a mix of pleasant, older style furniture and some antiques. There are two bedrooms, one simple twin on the ground floor, and a pretty double room, with a lovely old ornate wrought iron bed, on the 2nd floor. Open tread wooden steps with a wooden handrail lead from the spacious sitting room to a little gallery /study area where there is a single bed, screened from the room below. There are also steps down to a small dining area with low access and a very low ceiling - better for sitting than standing!

There is garden access both from the sitting room and from the simple, functional little kitchen, which has a useful serving hatch into the dining room. There are shops and restaurants at nearby Monte San Savino and Lucignano. Only a little further afield, guests can enjoy pleasant days out visiting such jewels as Arezzo, Siena, Perugia, Montepulciano and Pienza. With the motorway conveniently close, it is also possible to reach Florence in little more than an hour. (Because of the various steps and different levels in and around the property, parents may not consider it suitable for smaller children).
