The farm takes its name, "Poggio Porsenna", from the
420 metre high hill that it is situated on, which commands 360° panoramic
views. Climbing up on the hill there is an unlimited view of the surrounding
countryside with a few recognisable sights close by such as: Mount Amiata,
the Radicofani castle, the Mount Rufeno Nature Reserve and the bed of
the river Paglia. The Proceneseís conviction is understandable looking
at the hilltopís strategic position.

The family farm has a herd of cattle, which are only fed with natural products to produce a high quality and risk-free meat. To appreciate the quality of this meat, it can be bought from the local butcher in the village of Proceno. The farm has a private shaded car park. All the flats have an outside space equipped with chairs and tables for "al fresco" meals. |

L'Arco (2+1) Double bedroom with bathroom. Il Caminetto(6+1) The large hall on the ground floor has a fireplace and can hold up to 30 people for dinners, parties etc. On the same floor there is a double sofa bed, a kitchen, a wood burning oven, a wood burning stove and two bathrooms, one with shower. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms each with en suite bathroom. The rooms and the hall can all be rented individually. |
Near the farm horses are available for
hire for long country walks. The farm can provide, upon request, daily itineraries
to discover the surrounding area. |
From the South: Along the motorway
A1 take the exit for Orvieto and take the directions for San Lorenzo Nuovo.
Follow the S.S. Cassia until Acquapendente, where after 4 Km you will come
across, on the left, the fork for Proceno/Sorano. Follow the road for another
4 Km until the signs for the "Poggio Porsenna" farm. From the North: Along the motorway A1 take the exit for Firenze-Certosa and follow the road for Siena. Join the S.S. Cassia for around 80 Km, until the signs for Proceno/Sorano. Follow the road for another 4 Km until the signs for the "Poggio Porsenna" farm. |
