The farm - stead “ San lorenzo” is located
one mile out of Fiuggi, along the Via Prenestina, in a site of great historical
and environmental interest. The buildings rely on the remnants of a system
of water reservoirs date from the roman imperial times (2nd century a.Ch.)
and structured as “opus incertum”. Later on, the resort hosted “... a large
monastery, traditionally said to be dwelled by the Knights Templars. Mosaics,
coins, paintings, silverware which there often come back to light show
that the monastery was inhabited by those wealthy religious...” (T.Terrinoni,
I Sommi Pontefici della Campagna Romana, Rome, 1888). |
In an effort to recover the environment and the ecological
habitat, the Farm-stead has started and is carrying on since a few years
a program of organic agriculture. This includes furthering animal and vegetal
presence, their interactions with seasons and environment, as well as relationships
between soil and living organism. Manuring is always organic, with the
use of animal or vegetal products and positively no chemical fertilisers
or pesticides. A relevant activity is growing berries.
| The Farm-stead offers extra jams and marmalades.
Besides, other products of organic or traditional agriculture are available,
such as honey, oil, wine, coming from neighbouring farms. |

The Farm-stead also grows organic cereal. Their sprouts
are used to produce a nutritional supplement called Biogerm, with a plenty
of natural energy and vitalising substances. Wheat buds are an extraordinary
natural source of phosphates, and are full of chemical energy and antioxidizing
substances. Thus, Biogerm allows you to supplement your diet with natural
essential substances, in a simple and tasty way.
WHAT YOU CAN DO HERE:
The historical towns of Ciociaria, such as Anagni, Veroli,
Alatri, the abbeys of Casamari and Trisulti, the grottoes of Collepardo
and Pastena, the Ernici mountains with their celebrated chestnut woods
offer a variety of hints for a tour in the surroundings. Not to say of
Cassino, Roma, Napoli, Caserta, all of which are easily reached within
an hour driving. For those who practice sports, the famous golf course
of Fiuggi and the skiing area of Campocatino are only some of the many
opportunities offered.

new bike route Fiuggi-Plaiano, one of the most beautiful and long (about
20 miles) in Europe, and is close to the wild life area of the Canterno
Lake.
HOSPITALITY:
At the Farm-stead guests may have meals and snacks based
on traditional local courses and ingredients of own production (eggs, cereals,
herbs and vegetables from the greenyard).

Within a program of country tourism the Farm
may provide hospitality in single or double rooms with bathroom, or in
singles with bath and kitchen. |
Cultural and recreational activities are promoted. Swimming
pool, trekking, mountain bikes available.
